This 40+ slide presentation (full of audio, videos, ideas, and resources) and reflection guide will support you in facilitating child-led, nature-based art explorations with young children!

Every child deserves the freedom and space to create using materials in their environment-- so how can we foster the arts in our outdoor setting? Join us as we explore important aspects of a Reggio-inspired, child-led approach to the arts in the early years. We will discuss visual arts, music & dance, and theatre and how natural materials, observation, and intentional planning can create an environment where children can connect art with nature.

Participants will:

-identify developmentally appropriate practice in art education with young children

-explore different forms of art including visual arts (color theory, mark making, sculpture & 3D art, collage & mixed media, textiles), music & dance, and theatre

-transform our art philosophies to center nature and natural materials

*You will receive the reflection guide with a link to the presentation within 24 hours of purchasing-- please check your spam folder and reach out to rootsofchildhood@gmail.com if you do not receive it within 24 hours

**Participants must email a completed reflection guide to rootsofchildhood@gmail.com to recieve a PD certificate

***It is up to the participant to get PD hours approved by their state/ county/ national licensing department. Roots of Childhood cannot guarantee that every licensing department will approve all hours of the courses, due to different licensing requirements across states/ counties/ nations
